2017 QRRRWN STRONG WOMEN LEADERSHIP AWARDS

QRRRWN's Strong Women Leadership Awards program exists to identify, acknowledge and applaud the leadership strengths of Queensland rural, regional and remote women.  It recognises the women who are the invisible threads holding their local communities together and connecting them with the wider world.  There are also several categories specifically focused on younger women, those still emerging and developing their leadership interests and capacities.

RRR AWARDS


Category 1.  QRRRWN's Woman of the Year
This major award celebrates the achievements of a woman who has made a significant contribution to high priority issue in Queensland.  This woman is resilient, she inspires others to achieve their goals.  She shows strong leadership and is consistently striving to improve, grow and nurture RRR communities and the people in them.

Category 2.  QRRRWN Small Business Owner of the Year
This award recognises a woman who through her hard work has built or maintained a small business that promotes RRR community and/or benefits RRR women.  The nominee will provide a brief convincing argument and provide examples of why their business is worthy of the 2017 award.  This is a self-nominated award.  Applicant must be a financial member of QRRRWN.


Category 3.  QRRRWN Professional (RRR) Woman of the Year
This award recognises a woman who through the course of her work has influenced significant change to improve services to RRR Women / improve outcomes for women and their communities or the rural industry.  The nominee will provide examples of how they have, in their position, guided, influenced or implemented significant change to their industry or community. This is a self-nominated award. Applicant must be a financial member of QRRRWN.


Category 4.  QRRRWN Leadership Award
This award recognises a person, who through their work within a community or government organisation has made/is making, a significant contribution to policy, programs or services that have promoted, supported or improved services for RRR women in a high priority area. Nominations for this award can be received through self-nomination or a third party. This award is open to men and women.  
Category 5.  QRRRWN Volunteer of the Year
This award celebrates an exceptional volunteer in a non-paid position who continually supports or promotes the needs of people in RRR communities.  Nominations for this award can be received through self-nomination or a third party. This award is open to men and women.  

Category 6.  RRR Storyteller of the Year
This award celebrates a person who has, through their story telling promotes women in RRR areas.  Nominees may include women whose  story is told through writing, song, dance, journalism or another art form who 'tells a story' promoting RRR women. Nominations for this award can be received through self-nomination or a third party. This award is open to men and women.

Cateogry 7.  QRRRWN's Inspirational Woman

This special award celebrates an inspirational woman who has paved the way for future generations.  Nominees will be 65 years and over, they will have made a significant contribution to RRR communities. Nominations for this award can be received through self-nomination or a third party.

INSPIRING YOU WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP AWARDS

Category 8.  Young Woman with Vision (Under 16)
This award celebrates the achievements of a  young woman (under 16 years old) who has already made a significant contribution to her community and has a vision for the future.  The nominee will have high values that are consistent with QRRRWN. Nominations for this award can be received through self-nomination or a third party.

Category 9.  Young Woman with a Plan (16-19 years)
This award is open to nominees aged between 16-19 years who are inspiring leaders and have a clear plan on how they will achieve their goals.  They will have high values that are consistent with QRRRWN, they will have demonstrated their leadership through their community.  Nominations for this award can be received through self-nomination or a third party.


Category 10.  Young Rural Women's Award (20-30)
This award is open to nominees aged between 20-30 years who are inspiring leaders.  They will have high values that are consistent with QRRRWN, they will have demonstrated their leadership through their community.  Nominations for this award can be received through self-nomination or a third party.
